  Message from the Grand Knight

Charles Knight

Dear Brothers,

Is spring really here?

To all Brother Knights and their families, thank you for helping out by buying a book of raffle tickets which will benefit the less fortunate in our community. This is just one of the ways we take care of our neighbors.

Just a reminder: if you haven’t paid your dues yet, please send them in to Cosimo Scocco, our Financial Secretary. Brothers Bob Powers, Joe DiNero, DGK, John Gunn, PGK and Gerry McMenamin are working very hard with the retention.

On April 9, there was a Second Degree at Shrine of St. Ann’s in Brentwood and on the 18th, a Third Degree was held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Lindenhurst. We congratulate the Brothers who were able to attend one or both of these degrees. Both evenings were very successful and were attended by a good number of members from our council. Two of our Squires, Pat Bonavoglia and Mark Johnson, Jr. are now Third Degree Knights. Congratulations again!

Coming up, please put on your calendar Tuesday, May 13, which is the Prayer Rally in Albany. If you can not make it, please say a prayer for us on that day. Please note that a $10 deposit for the buses will be taken when you make your reservation, which will be returned to you when you get on the bus.

Sunday, May 18 is the “New York State Knights of Columbus Annual Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of the Island.” There will be a Rosary Walk at 10:00 a.m. and Mass to follow at 11:30 a.m. For additional information, please call Nick Cioffi at (631) 667-3843.

Please check the calendar on the back of this Knight Life for more upcoming events. This is a useful tool for all.

It’s still not too late - our 50th Anniversary Celebration on May 25 will be here before you know it. If you wish to attend, please contact Jack McGarry, PGK (631) 737-4929 or Tony Vitalino, PGK, FDD (631) 981-0794 for tickets. We look forward to seeing you there!

As always, please keep our Troops in our Prayers.

Charles Knight
