The President’s Line

The new Club and fishing years are just about to start. At the Club meeting in March, the election of Club Officers for 2008 was conducted and the returns are in. The following 2008 Officers were elected: Jim Batjer - President; Rick Alvanos - Vice
President; Stan Burghardt - Treasurer; Frank Petraglia - Recorder; and Jimmy Batjer, Jr. - Sergeant-at- Arms.

St. Patrick’s Day used to mark the traditional opening day for Flounder fishing, but now the season doesn’t start until April 1. Please see our plans for an April Flounder trip for details. Club Member Brother Brian won the voucher good for a free trip on the April Trip at the meeting.

We’ve all heard about the tax rebate being sent out by the federal government. I have a suggestion for my Brothers to use some of that money - Join us in May in supporting the Special Olympics. That way, you help Special Olympics, help the economy this year and possibly get a deduction on next year’s taxes - a triple bang for your buck. See the May fishing trip for details.
